I
would love this book and also want to make the van organizer but my
living room :) It's nice to see it in other fabrics, as I was also
thinking of doing it in the fabric I used to make my curtains. In
everyday life I like a shoulder strap medium sized handbag with at least
one zipper pocket.</div>

Today I want to show you the second.<br />
<br />
I love wallets even more than bags so was thrilled to bits when this one came in for testing and it has proven to be a winner with my customers. I sold the one I tested a few hours after it was made got an order for another one then followed by another order for a third. I ran out of locks for the wallet and only had the larger ones which one customer said was ok but another two are waiting till I get hold of the smaller locks.<br />
<br />
Here's my Brandts Boulevard Wallet, oh but before I show you I just want to tell you that these bags in the new range are being named after the testers. Isn't that cool!!!!! I can't wait to see the design for mine. Brandts Boulevard is named after tester Marilyn Brandt. She's an excellent tester and the maker of beautiful bags. Check out her blog <a href="http://shadesofbold.blogspot.de/2015/12/easy-street-patterns-by-chris-w-designs.html" target="_blank">HERE</a><br />
<br />
Now let me show you mine.<br />
<br />
I chose these fabrics becasue these are my favourite colours. I find it so calming to look at.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjzEdh6uQDsNZcrbQOpU5HzBF9QJfusxW4Gz4MdebaNl7-LKuNXBncjUkyetBXDjQlBiZEn4dMBY9jgFZjHD5altjPeAkr-u8hIiXunw_Tf3HWF0ZB_FqX_68uGWOPPNVZKjs24euStSr6o/s1600/IMG_3458.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjzEdh6uQDsNZcrbQOpU5HzBF9QJfusxW4Gz4MdebaNl7-LKuNXBncjUkyetBXDjQlBiZEn4dMBY9jgFZjHD5altjPeAkr-u8hIiXunw_Tf3HWF0ZB_FqX_68uGWOPPNVZKjs24euStSr6o/s640/IMG_3458.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
This easy to carry wallet has a detachable wrist strap and lock to keep everything safe.<br />

Inside there are loads of pockets, very typical of Christine's desings.<br />
<br />

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

There is a zipper pocket for coins and behind that is a slip pocket then behind that is a padded pocket for your cell phone. On the opposite side is yet another very roomy pocket with an ID card pocket and 4 card slots.<br />
<br />

I now have another two custom orders but on the condition that the lock is the small one. I've ordered them but they still haven't arrived. Hope they send the right ones.<br />

I've been so caught up with work and committing to other test bags that I've missed out on Christine's lovely patterns but all that is going to change becasue I am going walk through fire if I have to in order to test regularly for Christine. Did you know she was the first designer I ever tested for and that was many years ago.<br />
<br />
Anyway let me tell you about Christine's new range of patterns.<br />
<br />
Easy Street Patterns. If you've made Christine's patterns in the past take note that these are EASY patterns and much quicker to make than her usual range.<br />
<br />
So far there are two new patterns in this range and I was fortunate to test both. The first and the one I'm going to show you is Abby's Ally. <br />
<br />
This is a large tote <span style="color: black;">Approx. size: 45.7cm W X 31.8cm H X 13.5cm D (18” W X 12 1/2” H X 5 ¼” D)</span> that I have modified slightly as I didn't have the grommets needed for the handles. You can see Christine's in the photo at the end of this post.<br />
Instead of using grommets and rope handle I made a fabric one that I sewed to the outside of the bag inside the pockets.<br />
The front has these two lovely large pockets, so deep nothing will drop out of these.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Y8XYIa305sA/VivldwkRh2I/AAAAAAAAJvo/2KMUbKfxKNY/s1600/IMG_3341.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Y8XYIa305sA/VivldwkRh2I/AAAAAAAAJvo/2KMUbKfxKNY/s640/IMG_3341.JPG" width="500" /></a></div>
<br />
Then inside there are four of those large slip pockets to keep everything organized. Alot of stuff fits in this tote.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-5zj5AbHQ7vI/VivlcpfBhWI/AAAAAAAAJvg/-D_FGIGmX-8/s1600/IMG_3342.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-5zj5AbHQ7vI/VivlcpfBhWI/AAAAAAAAJvg/-D_FGIGmX-8/s640/IMG_3342.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-fiPt28o4F4U/Vivlen2pIGI/AAAAAAAAJvw/RYyxUSbqu-4/s1600/IMG_3340.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-fiPt28o4F4U/Vivlen2pIGI/AAAAAAAAJvw/RYyxUSbqu-4/s640/IMG_3340.JPG" width="534" /></a></div>
<br />
My daughter taught me how to make these bows so I decided to add one to my bag to match the handles as my fabric was very plain.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEicH84CQ5w-WN3W_GwOfyBmRYnAgPsDQQj5OF_ymtd_CX4TcOGPe5h_wSABjKhzuL4ACcP1-N4AqqPR9wxfZtEJYXrJ_W-N_CU1BW0MLkkoYGtCAH5JsTdJr0f1a3OOmLgd6jrdLr6MnJIt/s1600/IMG_3331.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEicH84CQ5w-WN3W_GwOfyBmRYnAgPsDQQj5OF_ymtd_CX4TcOGPe5h_wSABjKhzuL4ACcP1-N4AqqPR9wxfZtEJYXrJ_W-N_CU1BW0MLkkoYGtCAH5JsTdJr0f1a3OOmLgd6jrdLr6MnJIt/s640/IMG_3331.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
The back also has these big slip pockets. You can always recognize a bag designed by Christine because no matter how easy a pattern is it's always got loads of pockets. I think its her signature LOL <br />

<br />
The construction of this bag was completely different to any I have made before and very clever but I'm not going to tell you how it's done, you'll have to get the pattern and find out for yourself. <br />
<br />

<br />
This is Christine's. Don't they look gorgeous in these fabrics.<br />

We have to keep everything hush hush until patterns are released and then we can show ours on social media. Usually these secrets have to be kept for a week or two but this time round I had to keep quiet for a year. Yes that's right it's about a year.<br />
<br />
So after such a long wait I'm happy to present the On the Go Bags Blog Tour.<br />
<br />
My small part was testing the Van Organizer for Sarah at <a href="http://radianthomestudio.com/" target="_blank">Radiant Home Studio</a>.<br />
Lovely pattern, well written and illustrated with photos to help you if you need it.<br />
<br />
I made the Van Organizer for my daughter. As she doesn't have a car or a van she's using it to keep her sewing things in her room. Just goes to show this organizer can be used for absolutely everything.<br />
<br />
This is Sarah's van organizer. Loads of pockets on the outside and a removable divider on the inside. <br />
<br />
<br />

<br />
I have my copy of the On The Go Bags book and it has some beautiful and useful designs by some very well known designers. You don't want to miss out on this one. Get your copy <a href="http://www.ctpub.com/on-the-go-bags-15-handmade-purses-totes-organizers/" target="_blank">HERE</a><br />
<br />
Make sure you check out all the other blogs on the tour at the bottom of this post.<br />
<br />
Here's mine.<br />
<br />
This fabric must be around thirty years old. It's from a pair of curtains I used to have. Talk about hoarding LOLL. This is the side view. I didn't have mesh so made my pockets with fabric.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-2AhnZBFHpus/Vl9vQNeRSiI/AAAAAAAAJ4o/gPquMLOvtIY/s1600/IMG_1011.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-2AhnZBFHpus/Vl9vQNeRSiI/AAAAAAAAJ4o/gPquMLOvtIY/s640/IMG_1011.JPG" width="624" /></a></div>
<br />
On this side I used a wide elastic.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-vLdCPqnWWG0/Vl9vRXsTqfI/AAAAAAAAJ4w/dcnqX7blzJc/s1600/IMG_1012.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-vLdCPqnWWG0/Vl9vRXsTqfI/AAAAAAAAJ4w/dcnqX7blzJc/s640/IMG_1012.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
The inside has a removable divider held in place by velcro. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-XwdcUht1aZI/Vl9vSO5WotI/AAAAAAAAJ44/EKfFtQI-9ww/s1600/IMG_1013.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-XwdcUht1aZI/Vl9vSO5WotI/AAAAAAAAJ44/EKfFtQI-9ww/s640/IMG_1013.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-WGkCs_1y2Xc/Vl9vUnMMxmI/AAAAAAAAJ5I/RVUMfZOo8cw/s1600/IMG_1019.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-WGkCs_1y2Xc/Vl9vUnMMxmI/AAAAAAAAJ5I/RVUMfZOo8cw/s640/IMG_1019.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-1R1baePNBnQ/Vl9vV4otD7I/AAAAAAAAJ5Q/TcQWp9nxNM8/s1600/IMG_1021.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-1R1baePNBnQ/Vl9vV4otD7I/AAAAAAAAJ5Q/TcQWp9nxNM8/s640/IMG_1021.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Yet more pockets which keeps things organized. One year on and my daughter is still making use of hers for her sewing things. I could do with a few of these myself.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-W5Kzg6ky0wk/Vl9vW788ekI/AAAAAAAAJ5Y/LexPdqvvY1o/s1600/IMG_1022.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-W5Kzg6ky0wk/Vl9vW788ekI/AAAAAAAAJ5Y/LexPdqvvY1o/s640/IMG_1022.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>

<br />
I made these two today. The first is a custom order. I sent photos of my fabrics to the customer and she chose this one which also happens to be my favourite fabric.<br />
<br />
This one is to be used as a makeup bag but you could use it for so many different things.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-YSzT0l-Oiag/Vl35btEaguI/AAAAAAAAJ3w/Glue2ZIOnjU/s1600/IMG_3618.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-YSzT0l-Oiag/Vl35btEaguI/AAAAAAAAJ3w/Glue2ZIOnjU/s640/IMG_3618.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I used batting on mine to give it a firmer feel. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-eE-sZxxOkWs/Vl35avgNRbI/AAAAAAAAJ3o/2pb3Z4gIwi8/s1600/IMG_3617.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-eE-sZxxOkWs/Vl35avgNRbI/AAAAAAAAJ3o/2pb3Z4gIwi8/s640/IMG_3617.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
The pattern is excellent as is usual with Jane's patterns. Well written and illustrated with plenty of photos to help you if you are a visual sewer.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-sroDKdbPxJE/Vl35Y_sH42I/AAAAAAAAJ3g/dMjk75i2Pg4/s1600/IMG_3616.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-sroDKdbPxJE/Vl35Y_sH42I/AAAAAAAAJ3g/dMjk75i2Pg4/s640/IMG_3616.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-pOcJWJ8K34M/Vl35Xz_ioLI/AAAAAAAAJ3Y/QfbeNce_xWM/s1600/IMG_3615.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-pOcJWJ8K34M/Vl35Xz_ioLI/AAAAAAAAJ3Y/QfbeNce_xWM/s640/IMG_3615.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
The part that I got stuck on was the lining. Nothing to do with the pattern just which colour to use. I was undecided between pink and aqua as in the background of the main fabric. In the end pink won. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiiCM06HSxDhGqfaCMwaY-k70tkljWdseErEHXcE61HcDfHwX_EJHaof3083JW5UKRPNeFBW0hqm-P9KAqcRvKBKmGhJQ7V_20rgFLSwmBrFojAAuw8F8hBWn876YwzFCmr5gu3M-LV0Otj/s1600/IMG_3614.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiiCM06HSxDhGqfaCMwaY-k70tkljWdseErEHXcE61HcDfHwX_EJHaof3083JW5UKRPNeFBW0hqm-P9KAqcRvKBKmGhJQ7V_20rgFLSwmBrFojAAuw8F8hBWn876YwzFCmr5gu3M-LV0Otj/s640/IMG_3614.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
This next one I used this rope type of handle and tabs. It speeds things up a bit not having to sew the straps and tab.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-602kp660a28/Vl35e9Z7wRI/AAAAAAAAJ4A/4mleqpKfxgY/s1600/IMG_3621.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-602kp660a28/Vl35e9Z7wRI/AAAAAAAAJ4A/4mleqpKfxgY/s640/IMG_3621.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>

<br />
This has got to be one of the quickest sews I've ever made and super cute too. The pattern comes in three sizes. I tested the smallest one. As always Lisa's patterns are excellent. Very easy to follow with clear photos and instructions. <br />
<ul>
<li> ROBIN SIZE (small)</li>
<li> SUPERMAN SIZE (medium)</li>
<li> HULK SIZE (large)</li>
</ul>
I'm not going to make you read to the end of my post as this pattern is only free until 1st Dec to <a href="http://handmadebymrsh.blogspot.de/2015/11/super-drawstring-pouch-pattern-by-lisa.html" target="_blank">Mrs H blog</a> readers so go over quickly to get your free download. After that date you'll have to pay for the pattern. <br />
<br />
Just look at that cute little cape. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-GlufNCFqeLg/Vi6rmWpLvaI/AAAAAAAAJxU/5nRv_W8jBdU/s1600/IMG_3316.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-GlufNCFqeLg/Vi6rmWpLvaI/AAAAAAAAJxU/5nRv_W8jBdU/s640/IMG_3316.JPG" width="542" /></a></div>
<br />
These would look great in super hero fabrics with capes to give as gifts.<br />
They can be used for so many things and kids will love them.<br />

It's always such a pleasure testing for Jane. Never a mistake to be found or any corrections to be made. Perfection!!!<br />
<br />
Jane's patterns are excellent quality. Good photos and explanations from the smallest detail to the most difficult part.<br />
<br />
This is my test carryall. These are excellent for craft fairs. I sold this one a couple of hours after finishing it and got orders for two more just like it which you can see in the last two photos.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-bZHty1h4YGg/VkxqVBkgFWI/AAAAAAAAJ2A/KxWkcpzmaOs/s1600/IMG_3452.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-bZHty1h4YGg/VkxqVBkgFWI/AAAAAAAAJ2A/KxWkcpzmaOs/s640/IMG_3452.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I followed the pattern except for one thing. You've probably heard me say it before but I don't like floppy bags they have to be firm and stand to attention.<br />
Gives you an idea of what a slave driver I can be LOLLL<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-XLCbSYLolPk/Vkxoyi3UxeI/AAAAAAAAJ1M/zFV7GoG0QI4/s1600/IMG_3453.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-XLCbSYLolPk/Vkxoyi3UxeI/AAAAAAAAJ1M/zFV7GoG0QI4/s640/IMG_3453.JPG" width="590" /></a></div>
<br />
Jane on the other hand likes 'fabric to feel like fabric'. I suspect she's more of a romantic LOLLL <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-JDaIpwBBrio/Vkxo0YtBGrI/AAAAAAAAJ1U/MDeWU0i9O60/s1600/IMG_3454.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-JDaIpwBBrio/Vkxo0YtBGrI/AAAAAAAAJ1U/MDeWU0i9O60/s640/IMG_3454.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
You cant see very well but all seams are hidden away as you would expect with Jane's patterns.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-VR2TWmprl08/Vkxo2D19ZbI/AAAAAAAAJ1c/TwFK7DJu_qE/s1600/IMG_3455.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-VR2TWmprl08/Vkxo2D19ZbI/AAAAAAAAJ1c/TwFK7DJu_qE/s640/IMG_3455.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I've put some make up here to give you an idea of the size but you could use this carryall for so many things. It would be perfect for sewing stuff especially if you do hand sewing like hexies, get the idea.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-yz2XekBsKuw/Vkxo3ufof_I/AAAAAAAAJ1k/42YlVIW2yGc/s1600/IMG_3456.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-yz2XekBsKuw/Vkxo3ufof_I/AAAAAAAAJ1k/42YlVIW2yGc/s640/IMG_3456.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
These are the other two that were custom orders.<br />
I'm having to sew up bags for the shop this week and next week too, we're going back in time to the 1940's - 50's. After that I really want to make some time for more of these carryalls.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-yTGv2GWJ1NM/Vkxo8Hzo8II/AAAAAAAAJ10/kVQXJJ0QxSY/s1600/IMG_3470.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="538" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-yTGv2GWJ1NM/Vkxo8Hzo8II/AAAAAAAAJ10/kVQXJJ0QxSY/s640/IMG_3470.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
If you'd like the pattern for the Mini Carryall you can go <a href="https://www.etsy.com/listing/256640564/mini-carryall-pdf-easy-sewing-pattern?ref=shop_home_active_1" target="_blank">HERE</a> to Jane's Etsy or <a href="http://projectsbyjane.blogspot.sg/2015/11/bagpattern.html" target="_blank">HERE</a> from Jane's blog and do hurry becasue the pattern is being sold at a <span style="color: red;">DISCOUNT PRICE</span> until <span style="color: red;">Nov 23rd.</span> <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-qOUp74m6e9g/Vkxo436rGHI/AAAAAAAAJ1s/SeheAuzWjyY/s1600/IMG_3471.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-qOUp74m6e9g/Vkxo436rGHI/AAAAAAAAJ1s/SeheAuzWjyY/s640/IMG_3471.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Thanks for staying with me. I'm not her very often but I am sewing everyday and keeping a record of my bags so one of these days I'm going to bombard you with loads of photos.<br />
<br />
Take care and Happy Sewing<br />

<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgDGpHA1UoJH8_DLV0T6faghUpa-hjMvASs9u65TMvTPooKjPIwZvN_f-o8co5BoWc095qXi7LgTXeZF8jm219t8Elzsd0MmanbjxoneGYyQTNYtbsZFTZ2anqiGfSUM4Xn4XzJ3OvB8how/s1600/12029843_10152916658556653_7005176789158948476_o.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgDGpHA1UoJH8_DLV0T6faghUpa-hjMvASs9u65TMvTPooKjPIwZvN_f-o8co5BoWc095qXi7LgTXeZF8jm219t8Elzsd0MmanbjxoneGYyQTNYtbsZFTZ2anqiGfSUM4Xn4XzJ3OvB8how/s640/12029843_10152916658556653_7005176789158948476_o.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
The Hang About Toiletry Bag is part of a trio designed by three designers two of whom I test for so know they are brilliant and the other I haven't had the pleasure of testing for but her bag looks fabulous so I'm pretty sure her pattern is just as good as the other two. The designers are Lisa of <a href="https://www.facebook.com/groups/twoprettypoppets/" target="_blank">Two Pretty Poppets</a> who is the designer of this one I tested, Kylie of <a href="http://www.littlemoodesigns.com.au/pattern-shop.html" target="_blank">Little Moo Designs</a> who designed The Tiny Essentials Tote Bag and Rachel of <a href="https://www.facebook.com/groups/RLRCreationsSewingPatterns/" target="_blank">RLR Creations</a>.<br />
<br />
This is the mens version, and a ladies version will be released soon after this offer has ended.<br />
The hardest part was trying to choose manly fabrics as most of mine are florals but I thought this one would work. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgVn_dX_htqxLgU_SXdOMeylcyf-7lcPhXb70ucBBJTNEl6hTbDRh2P25GfhRlOA8KQX6-y_f5hiAij545KPp4p1YgdJBZ6QkKgRIt6f0wAXvhBtRIJXqFiJYne-uG1XW_3ya_F36clhGX3/s1600/IMG_2869.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgVn_dX_htqxLgU_SXdOMeylcyf-7lcPhXb70ucBBJTNEl6hTbDRh2P25GfhRlOA8KQX6-y_f5hiAij545KPp4p1YgdJBZ6QkKgRIt6f0wAXvhBtRIJXqFiJYne-uG1XW_3ya_F36clhGX3/s640/IMG_2869.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Lisa's pattern was brilliant as usual. Easy to follow instructions with photos for the visual sewer like me. I kind of panicked when I saw all that piping and although it's not perfect I'm happy with the result.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-LRn8XiAg_hE/Vg-DWBYhn-I/AAAAAAAAJpk/gTEvRJmvcPI/s1600/IMG_2870.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-LRn8XiAg_hE/Vg-DWBYhn-I/AAAAAAAAJpk/gTEvRJmvcPI/s640/IMG_2870.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
My favourite feature of this toiletry bag is that you can hang it up. Check the photos further down and you will see there are three options for how you can hang your bag.<br />
The pattern uses a mesh for under the flap but you can also use clear plastic or fabric like I did.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-PgP9MtKbgrg/Vg-Dee6ylJI/AAAAAAAAJps/p3A3f14NjXc/s1600/IMG_2872.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-PgP9MtKbgrg/Vg-Dee6ylJI/AAAAAAAAJps/p3A3f14NjXc/s640/IMG_2872.JPG" width="406" /></a></div>
<br />
Another zipper pocket on the outside of the bag leaving the main compartment free to fit in loads of stuff.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-WWOry4Ec67c/Vg-DhENhzCI/AAAAAAAAJp0/5JRhWwL1miE/s1600/IMG_2873.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-WWOry4Ec67c/Vg-DhENhzCI/AAAAAAAAJp0/5JRhWwL1miE/s640/IMG_2873.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I did make a slight mistake here can you see what it is?<br />
Yes I put my zipper in the wrong way. Although it's fine if your left handed LOL <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgWdF8H-GvZiVJqwfRtjwA0kr5oL7CCSuUZLr3xz6aX0aHZZ7QKu1aFiA08ZbgS9AlXtssKWXwOVePfZSFbMS4wIcNZHsR5-hoeiQm58ZRxnT4_CNE0xyoMCNLRfp3IxnJWoLCIUol4Qu2K/s1600/IMG_2874.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgWdF8H-GvZiVJqwfRtjwA0kr5oL7CCSuUZLr3xz6aX0aHZZ7QKu1aFiA08ZbgS9AlXtssKWXwOVePfZSFbMS4wIcNZHsR5-hoeiQm58ZRxnT4_CNE0xyoMCNLRfp3IxnJWoLCIUol4Qu2K/s640/IMG_2874.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
A nice large main compartment for you guys to add things guys add to their toiletry bags LOLL <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-DK262cB9g-Y/Vg-ECQufUjI/AAAAAAAAJqc/rIymoFeNFs4/s1600/IMG_2880.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-DK262cB9g-Y/Vg-ECQufUjI/AAAAAAAAJqc/rIymoFeNFs4/s640/IMG_2880.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
You can hang it this way on a towel rail.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/--uqRu8cQHZE/Vg-DzTjLkGI/AAAAAAAAJqU/m8BxozZAYyU/s1600/IMG_2877.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/--uqRu8cQHZE/Vg-DzTjLkGI/AAAAAAAAJqU/m8BxozZAYyU/s640/IMG_2877.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Or this way on a door knob. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-_UWuAoJ36d8/Vg-DxwoPOhI/AAAAAAAAJqM/SWFX0GRxcTU/s1600/IMG_2876.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-_UWuAoJ36d8/Vg-DxwoPOhI/AAAAAAAAJqM/SWFX0GRxcTU/s640/IMG_2876.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Or this way on a hook. Love it. There's one thing that really bothers me when I go somewhere and I have to take a toiletry bag, no matter how clean the bathroom is I really don't like having to place my bag on the counter so this is perfect.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-5W8nRrwBUa4/Vg-Dn2ToMSI/AAAAAAAAJqE/U3x6ZclOwgo/s1600/IMG_2875.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-5W8nRrwBUa4/Vg-Dn2ToMSI/AAAAAAAAJqE/U3x6ZclOwgo/s640/IMG_2875.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I know you'll want to buy this and the other two in the set of the Total Toiletry Trio Pattern and you can find it <a href="http://www.craftsy.com/pattern/sewing/accessory/sale-total-toiletry-trio-over-15-off/166039" target="_blank">HERE</a> on Craftsy but hurry becasue for a limited time the pattern is on SALE.<br />
<br />
Have fun sewing your trio set. I for one want to make this one again but this time in girly fabric.<br />

This beautiful design is by Maria at <a href="http://www.craftsy.com/user/1066202/pattern-store?_ct=fqjjuhd-ijehu&_ctp=43806,1066202" target="_blank">DelindaBoutique</a>. Maria's patterns are excellent with loads of photos and good clear instructions making it very easy to make any of her lovely desings.<br />
<br />
This clutch can look good for an evening out, to a wedding and with casual fabrics is a fun clutch to take out during the day as you will see in the photo below of the clutches made by the other testers. I was short on time so I <strike>pinched </strike>borrowed that photo from Liz's blog <a href="http://liz-moments.blogspot.com/2015/09/simona-bow-clutxh.html" target="_blank">Moments</a> who was also a tester for Simona and made a lovely denim clutch.<br />
<br />
I used a black satin for the body of the bag and the bow I used curtain fabric becasue it was nice and stiff and and held the shape of the bow well. I've been using alot of burgundy in my bag making lately as that's the in colour this year here.<br />
<br />
Simona is perfect if you don't want to carry the kitchen sink with you. Big enough for a few essentials, measures approx 11" (28 cm) wide 5 1/2" (14 cm) high.<br />
<br />

<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgzGujEAzbBB0B7EfX-nH83AjQd6i-957kZOTFyx7LHVTH1B_1Mo1t8vFWzaCendTjMuMzieT6pZ3Ww91OGq4VU-lYQv1U_7VaH2bHoRlZ6G30vlveWE-GH-0jFfVUsYQ7ADYG3AiHFP6Lq/s1600/IMG_2953.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgzGujEAzbBB0B7EfX-nH83AjQd6i-957kZOTFyx7LHVTH1B_1Mo1t8vFWzaCendTjMuMzieT6pZ3Ww91OGq4VU-lYQv1U_7VaH2bHoRlZ6G30vlveWE-GH-0jFfVUsYQ7ADYG3AiHFP6Lq/s640/IMG_2953.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Looking at it you may think its complicated to sew but it is really easy and very quick to put together.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-kNIbwI3vSeg/Vflnt5HFntI/AAAAAAAAJmA/sIX_PerUpys/s1600/IMG_2954.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-kNIbwI3vSeg/Vflnt5HFntI/AAAAAAAAJmA/sIX_PerUpys/s640/IMG_2954.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I added a little zipper pull to make it easier to to open the zip.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-1uZuVZK54sg/VflnrtULTqI/AAAAAAAAJlw/cWLKGcckXPw/s1600/IMG_2949.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-1uZuVZK54sg/VflnrtULTqI/AAAAAAAAJlw/cWLKGcckXPw/s640/IMG_2949.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I thought I had posted it already, these days I don't know if I'm coming or going.<br />
<br />
So here we have it, the wonderful <a href="http://www.littlemoodesigns.com.au/the-bay-boho-bag-.html" target="_blank">Bay Boho Bag</a> by Kylie of Little Moo Designs.<br />
<br />
This pattern is perfect for a beginner, there's only one outer zipper and if you aren't too great at doing zippers then just leave it out. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-mCtcb50HLII/VgBmP3pVn0I/AAAAAAAAJoE/ukC0vByiMl8/s1600/IMG_2885.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-mCtcb50HLII/VgBmP3pVn0I/AAAAAAAAJoE/ukC0vByiMl8/s640/IMG_2885.JPG" width="462" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-6EDWfay2gJo/VgBmR6RzyvI/AAAAAAAAJoU/dHvUVd5nmP8/s1600/IMG_2886.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-6EDWfay2gJo/VgBmR6RzyvI/AAAAAAAAJoU/dHvUVd5nmP8/s640/IMG_2886.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
The main closure on this bag in the pattern was a magnetic button but I got Kylie's approval to add a zipper to my main closure. I was happy with it at the time but looking at it now I should have made it longer.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-yQ1EjbBn6SI/VgBmTI9f_mI/AAAAAAAAJoQ/Xe6L8Eoz5_I/s1600/IMG_2887.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-yQ1EjbBn6SI/VgBmTI9f_mI/AAAAAAAAJoQ/Xe6L8Eoz5_I/s640/IMG_2887.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-CzOz7c1b0Q4/VgBmUXuZnaI/AAAAAAAAJoc/8ndq16WOQRY/s1600/IMG_2888.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-CzOz7c1b0Q4/VgBmUXuZnaI/AAAAAAAAJoc/8ndq16WOQRY/s640/IMG_2888.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Something else I did that wasn't in the pattern and can't really be seen in these photos is an adjustable cross body strap. That's whats so nice about this pattern, you can just make it as is in the pattern or you can personalize it by adding more pockets to suit your needs. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-dsVWTmT78xc/VgBmVgwEk3I/AAAAAAAAJok/f6rgOH-Rwh0/s1600/IMG_2891.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-dsVWTmT78xc/VgBmVgwEk3I/AAAAAAAAJok/f6rgOH-Rwh0/s640/IMG_2891.JPG" width="526" /></a></div>
<br />
Inside the pattern has two slip pockets which are always good for cell phones. Again if you are confident enough you can add a zippered pocket to the inside of the bag.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-RgrjKuG-1Gc/VgBmW0z0vPI/AAAAAAAAJos/DDHB3cmXTg8/s1600/IMG_2892.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-RgrjKuG-1Gc/VgBmW0z0vPI/AAAAAAAAJos/DDHB3cmXTg8/s640/IMG_2892.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I used upholstery fabric but you can choose any kind of fabric you like. Its a perfect size measuring<br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: georgia,serif;"><span style="font-size: 16px;"><b>Finished Size:</b> 18" W x 10" H (Base to top seam)/45 cms x 26 cms.</span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: georgia,serif;"><span style="font-size: 16px;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="font-family: georgia,serif;"><span style="font-size: 16px;">You can buy the pattern <a href="http://www.littlemoodesigns.com.au/the-bay-boho-bag-.html" target="_blank">HERE</a> and also check out the other testers bags. They look great.</span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: georgia,serif;"><span style="font-size: 16px;"><br /></span></span>

<br />
Every time I test a bag for Sarah I am amazed at how her mind works. Not only are her designs beautiful and unique but the way she puts them together I just can't put into words, she's amazing.<br />
<br />
Here's mine.<br />
Sarah sent her testers these lovely metal handles, just waiting for them to arrive was so exciting.<br />
This wasn't a difficult bag to make it's just that it involved some new techniques I hadn't done before. Once you've made one the rest will be much easier.<br />
The places I did get stuck Sarah was wonderful at helping me out. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-0kEwfPfYD70/VfsueOdqeoI/AAAAAAAAJmU/wcGl-gFpf4w/s1600/IMG_2820.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-0kEwfPfYD70/VfsueOdqeoI/AAAAAAAAJmU/wcGl-gFpf4w/s640/IMG_2820.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Aren't these handles just gorgeous and if you want free hands then Layla has a removable shoulder strap.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-EZmD4HxtcTs/VfsuglINY_I/AAAAAAAAJmc/dtb1YzH7D_A/s1600/IMG_2821.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-EZmD4HxtcTs/VfsuglINY_I/AAAAAAAAJmc/dtb1YzH7D_A/s640/IMG_2821.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ZFSLBj8Tt18/VfsujOdsqTI/AAAAAAAAJmk/vMDbUIxnUnE/s1600/IMG_2822.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ZFSLBj8Tt18/VfsujOdsqTI/AAAAAAAAJmk/vMDbUIxnUnE/s640/IMG_2822.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
This is one of my mistakes and a silly one too. For some reason I cut my gusset too short so instead of cutting out another one I decided to add a piece of red like the lining to the bottom and turned it into a feature.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-duuD97oGxGc/VfsumNhyINI/AAAAAAAAJms/-RXjxTvZE8E/s1600/IMG_2823.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-duuD97oGxGc/VfsumNhyINI/AAAAAAAAJms/-RXjxTvZE8E/s640/IMG_2823.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
This is the inside of the bag. Terrible photo I know. It's surprisingly roomy, perfect for the essentials you need for a shopping trip.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjLbJ3JBzSwwZB-j0rRtjFcbnTS1CsTcUvkIbgL7KoMXBG6FbnbbYyimLsBAQD_pAW-HNXBAIejLAJgUSvy2QDiwWHpziA_eXEFuVuiZ1OIoAt2BEInZr6a4dyWP7eqZxMX6mAJe-FM85Ct/s1600/IMG_2824.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjLbJ3JBzSwwZB-j0rRtjFcbnTS1CsTcUvkIbgL7KoMXBG6FbnbbYyimLsBAQD_pAW-HNXBAIejLAJgUSvy2QDiwWHpziA_eXEFuVuiZ1OIoAt2BEInZr6a4dyWP7eqZxMX6mAJe-FM85Ct/s640/IMG_2824.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
Layla measures approx 14 1/2 W x 6 3/4 H (not incl. handles) x 3 1/2"D. Inside is a zipper pocket and the main closure has a zipper too so everything is nice and secure. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-c_BeqRrDxfo/VfsuuTXN5qI/AAAAAAAAJm8/jebJTd2K8co/s1600/IMG_2825.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-c_BeqRrDxfo/VfsuuTXN5qI/AAAAAAAAJm8/jebJTd2K8co/s1600/IMG_2825.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-I9loU9Zu38A/Vfsu6KlrLtI/AAAAAAAAJnE/71L0PEZ4aqg/s1600/IMG_2826.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-I9loU9Zu38A/Vfsu6KlrLtI/AAAAAAAAJnE/71L0PEZ4aqg/s640/IMG_2826.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
All the testers did an amazing job and the results were just gorgeous. You can see their bags <a href="http://www.cozynestdesign.com/laylagallery/" target="_blank">HERE</a> I have to say though that out of all the bags everyone made Sarah's were the nicest.<br />
<br />
Even if you only ever make this bag once you have to try it but I'm sure you'll want to make more after the first. You can find the pattern <a href="http://www.craftsy.com/pattern/sewing/accessory/cozy-nest-design---the-layla-bag/163161" target="_blank">HERE</a> on Craftsy and Janelle from Emmaline Bags is supplying the handles which you can find <a href="http://emmalinebags.com/collections/new-products/products/oval-bag-handles-grommet-style?variant=5958989637" target="_blank">HERE</a>.<br />
<br />
It was a pleasure to test this bag and I look forward to finding some time to make another. I guess in the end the most difficult part is deciding which fabrics to use.<br />
<br />
Thanks for stopping by<br />
Happy Sewing.<br />

When I offered to test this one I thought it would just be an ordinary tote made up in patchwork which really appealed to me but was I wrong. This is no ordinary tote. The pattern has three sizes to choose from and I chose the largest one, what I didn't realize is just how LARGE it really is. Now you all know they say size isn't important but they're lying size is important LOLLLLL well at least in a bag.<br />
<br />
Here's my Stand Up & Tote Notice Bag.<br />
<br />
<h2>
Sizing / Finished Measurements:</h2>
<ul>
<li>SMALL: Width at base - 8" (20cm), Depth - 5" (13cm), Height to handles - 12" (30cm), Strap drop - 11" (28cm)</li>
<li>MEDIUM: Width at base - 10"(25cm), Depth - 6"(15cm), Height to handles - 15" (38cm), Strap drop - 111/2" (29cm)</li>
<li>LARGE: Width at base - 12" (30cm), Depth - 7" (18cm), Height to handles - 18"(46cm), Strap drop - 12" (30cm)</li>
</ul>
Mine is the largest one and no kidding it's enormous. This pattern is suitable for an advanced beginner. No hardware to fiddle with or zippers to add if you're not too experienced on adding zippers just a magnetic button as the main closure. After making it I did find that this size is perfect as an overnight bag so I will be making more and possibly insert a zipper to use it as an overnight bag but I really do love the simplicity of this tote.<br />
<br />
When I first saw a photo of it for testing I thought it was a plain patchwork tote but it isn't. The front and back has two large slip pockets perfect for keeping keys and cell phone handy without having to search through your bag for them. <br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-EN1MGYAosoE/VfOREwf7hQI/AAAAAAAAJkM/8qLxsKJaObs/s1600/IMG_2972.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-EN1MGYAosoE/VfOREwf7hQI/AAAAAAAAJkM/8qLxsKJaObs/s640/IMG_2972.JPG" width="566" /></a></div>
<br />
From this view you can see the two outer pockets better and the main magnetic closure.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-EvYkSYQp-M0/VfORLBOH_jI/AAAAAAAAJks/ljM0DblsbFk/s1600/IMG_2978.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-EvYkSYQp-M0/VfORLBOH_jI/AAAAAAAAJks/ljM0DblsbFk/s640/IMG_2978.JPG" width="598" /></a></div>
<br />
See how much room there is in side and also four slip pockets to help keep your contents organized. There is so much room this bag will cope with all your needs whatever you need it for.<br />
The pattern contains over 70 full colour photographs and 11 pages of
clear, detailed instructions which flow really nicely and is very easy
to follow.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-3OqoDnUBMGk/VfORMPyxPLI/AAAAAAAAJk0/34Qnoq6DkQQ/s1600/IMG_2979.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-3OqoDnUBMGk/VfORMPyxPLI/AAAAAAAAJk0/34Qnoq6DkQQ/s640/IMG_2979.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
The pattern requires you to use Soft & Stable but I can't get it where I am so chose to use fleece. Remember this bag needs to stand up so I fused a medium interfacing to my fabric then fused a fairly firm fleece, I didn't have fusible fleece so fused it on with wonder under then I fused yet another piece of interfacing but this time a light one. The result was perfect but as there were so many layers I was worried about them coming apart with time so solved that problem by quilting all the pieces in a kind of QAYG method.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-wnvh7lxM0yA/VfORGu7_gPI/AAAAAAAAJkU/5Wle8GM7z20/s1600/IMG_2973.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-wnvh7lxM0yA/VfORGu7_gPI/AAAAAAAAJkU/5Wle8GM7z20/s640/IMG_2973.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-FiV4iAoypn4/VfORIEE49JI/AAAAAAAAJkc/hHRSHFXRg_M/s1600/IMG_2974.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-FiV4iAoypn4/VfORIEE49JI/AAAAAAAAJkc/hHRSHFXRg_M/s640/IMG_2974.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
The only pieces I didn't quilt were the outer pockets. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-rAArKrTX3O8/VfORJuWPz9I/AAAAAAAAJkk/idKdbsoFZIg/s1600/IMG_2976.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-rAArKrTX3O8/VfORJuWPz9I/AAAAAAAAJkk/idKdbsoFZIg/s640/IMG_2976.JPG" width="464" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-uCMqb_zvOHQ/VfORNy3E1WI/AAAAAAAAJk8/P6Ez43S97pI/s1600/IMG_2981.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-uCMqb_zvOHQ/VfORNy3E1WI/AAAAAAAAJk8/P6Ez43S97pI/s640/IMG_2981.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
To give you an idea of the size her it is next to my heavy duty industrial sewing machine.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-weazlQYPu7E/VfOSbrc5o3I/AAAAAAAAJlI/8vBND84yMN8/s1600/IMG_2982.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-weazlQYPu7E/VfOSbrc5o3I/AAAAAAAAJlI/8vBND84yMN8/s640/IMG_2982.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">

It was a lovely pattern, easy and quick to make. I had wanted to make it again but never seemed to have the time.<br />
So when some free time came my way I made four of them.<br />
<br />
This first one is patchwork. I used two fabrics that were the same design but with the colours switched round.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-7GARSj95lbc/VcvD-JRb9JI/AAAAAAAAJeQ/wcTbOoKvRfk/s1600/IMG_2783.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-7GARSj95lbc/VcvD-JRb9JI/AAAAAAAAJeQ/wcTbOoKvRfk/s640/IMG_2783.JPG" width="508" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-3ds8nuL6g5A/VcvEFhRykxI/AAAAAAAAJeY/X6SyDoJZYsI/s1600/IMG_2784.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-3ds8nuL6g5A/VcvEFhRykxI/AAAAAAAAJeY/X6SyDoJZYsI/s640/IMG_2784.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
The pattern had a magnetic button and as I was making these to sell had to sew a zipper and the recessed zipper is perfect for almost any bag.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-bHeNkyFeEfs/VcvEKRsZDyI/AAAAAAAAJeg/BBqciZdjBmo/s1600/IMG_2788.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-bHeNkyFeEfs/VcvEKRsZDyI/AAAAAAAAJeg/BBqciZdjBmo/s640/IMG_2788.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I left out the internal zipper pocket that was in the pattern and just added the slip pockets. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-2TIE5DoNIB4/VcvEM4LXwxI/AAAAAAAAJeo/Rg6ba9I8L98/s1600/IMG_2790.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-2TIE5DoNIB4/VcvEM4LXwxI/AAAAAAAAJeo/Rg6ba9I8L98/s640/IMG_2790.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
These were the next two I made. This time I used just one piece of fabric. The patchwork one is a cheater fabric, all one piece. The Rosie Patchwork bag measures approx 12 1/2" x 13" (32cm x 34cm)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-NQF_u11Mh0k/VcvEZucg9dI/AAAAAAAAJew/psuPhZ1lOVQ/s1600/IMG_2793.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-NQF_u11Mh0k/VcvEZucg9dI/AAAAAAAAJew/psuPhZ1lOVQ/s640/IMG_2793.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I love the recessed zipper on this one.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Agp4KR6VfkI/VcvEdkSen2I/AAAAAAAAJe4/poA8QoOgSwE/s1600/IMG_2794.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Agp4KR6VfkI/VcvEdkSen2I/AAAAAAAAJe4/poA8QoOgSwE/s640/IMG_2794.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />

<br />
<br />

<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-jQoc6V5nNuM/VcvErLa1wzI/AAAAAAAAJfU/mvyxRTwuzyA/s1600/IMG_2797.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-jQoc6V5nNuM/VcvErLa1wzI/AAAAAAAAJfU/mvyxRTwuzyA/s640/IMG_2797.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-FrTqaaGxNts/VcvExLlWcRI/AAAAAAAAJfc/YT6yxrOPLaQ/s1600/IMG_2798.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-FrTqaaGxNts/VcvExLlWcRI/AAAAAAAAJfc/YT6yxrOPLaQ/s640/IMG_2798.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-NXvuK95Bry0/VcvE53aR16I/AAAAAAAAJfk/6RgwbnL2mW8/s1600/IMG_2799.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-NXvuK95Bry0/VcvE53aR16I/AAAAAAAAJfk/6RgwbnL2mW8/s640/IMG_2799.JPG" width="612" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-XElf2UbWhjw/VcvE9iK_vNI/AAAAAAAAJfs/wCPh0gEkaSQ/s1600/IMG_2800.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-XElf2UbWhjw/VcvE9iK_vNI/AAAAAAAAJfs/wCPh0gEkaSQ/s640/IMG_2800.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-4VJugRjKhzA/VcvFDKn_9_I/AAAAAAAAJf0/8pgoDQ1g6UQ/s1600/IMG_2801.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-4VJugRjKhzA/VcvFDKn_9_I/AAAAAAAAJf0/8pgoDQ1g6UQ/s640/IMG_2801.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Then to go with the bags I wanted to make matching pouches so made up a pattern and came up with these.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-mj9jS0_Kj6M/VcvFG7tu1eI/AAAAAAAAJf8/eDVnxht1pow/s1600/IMG_2808.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-mj9jS0_Kj6M/VcvFG7tu1eI/AAAAAAAAJf8/eDVnxht1pow/s640/IMG_2808.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Ju8MC-rGFpY/VcvFRaXxJZI/AAAAAAAAJgE/4zraD2HFmJo/s1600/IMG_2809.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="514" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Ju8MC-rGFpY/VcvFRaXxJZI/AAAAAAAAJgE/4zraD2HFmJo/s640/IMG_2809.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
These bags have since been sold so now I have the perfect excuse to make some more. I'm hoping its not going to take 3 years before I get back to it.<br />
<br />

This time it's the <a href="http://www.craftsy.com/pattern/sewing/accessory/loretta-tassel-bag/161561" target="_blank">Loretta Tassel Bag</a><br />
I couldn't find a suitable tassel for mine so left it off.<br />
<br />
This is a fairly easy bag to make which a confident beginner could tackle. Maria's patterns are very well written with clear photos of each step. It's hard to go wrong.<br />
Loretta measures approx 15" W x 12 1/2" H x 2 1/2" D. The handle drop is 9" but is easily adjustable when cutting out your fabrics. I made mine about 3" longer.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
The front has a large pocket for easy access to your cell phone and keys but will hold a lot more.<br />

<br />
The pattern uses a magnetic button as the main closure but I wanted it to have a zipper so I added a recessed zipper which is an easy method to add to almost any bag.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-gZb2s1E0KQA/VeN8nGMO1rI/AAAAAAAAJiQ/zDSXnO7kbfY/s1600/IMG_2865.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-gZb2s1E0KQA/VeN8nGMO1rI/AAAAAAAAJiQ/zDSXnO7kbfY/s640/IMG_2865.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Inside there are two roomy slip pockets and a zipper pocket for added security.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-NC4KLSOKF0o/VeN8po6le_I/AAAAAAAAJiY/6ee7g46PHN4/s1600/IMG_2866.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-NC4KLSOKF0o/VeN8po6le_I/AAAAAAAAJiY/6ee7g46PHN4/s640/IMG_2866.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
The back is plain but if you are a more experienced sewer and like lots of pockets you could add another zipper pocket to the back. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
Now I'm here showing you Maria's design I may as well show you a little pouch I tested for her some time ago and didn't get the chance to show you.<br />
<br />
This is the <a href="http://www.craftsy.com/pattern/sewing/accessory/drea-foldover-pouch/43806" target="_blank">Drea Foldover Pouch</a>. Cute little bag, these are two I made. I also made another two but can't find the photos anywhere.<br />
Drea measures approx 8.5" W x 6 " H x 2 1/2"D when folded and 8 1/2" H when open. This is a perfect project for scrap busting.<br />
I used fabric for the main body and for the bottom used a soft pleather for the closure tab I used a piece of leather. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-xeggnlOGVSE/VeP10RHkqEI/AAAAAAAAJjE/En-alkp4gu4/s1600/11046853_1571111329839002_6862311140090382676_o.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-xeggnlOGVSE/VeP10RHkqEI/AAAAAAAAJjE/En-alkp4gu4/s640/11046853_1571111329839002_6862311140090382676_o.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I love the bottom of this pouch.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-EWULr5LJKQM/VeP1Z6eZiaI/AAAAAAAAJi0/AQRo34gjuKg/s1600/176600_1571111299839005_1345783271713050096_o.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-EWULr5LJKQM/VeP1Z6eZiaI/AAAAAAAAJi0/AQRo34gjuKg/s640/176600_1571111299839005_1345783271713050096_o.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
On this one I made the closure tab as written in the pattern and think it's more secure than the one above.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-kKieEeGWqiw/VeP1j4jtveI/AAAAAAAAJi8/eQWI2SN-ox4/s1600/11066548_1570978989852236_3264721355660890468_o.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-kKieEeGWqiw/VeP1j4jtveI/AAAAAAAAJi8/eQWI2SN-ox4/s640/11066548_1570978989852236_3264721355660890468_o.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
A nice feature of this bag is the zig zag stitching on the side seam. Some of the other testers used decorative stitches for this part.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-2EgikSmTd-U/VeP17LBMT-I/AAAAAAAAJjM/3qQc6UL5X3E/s1600/11034371_1570978906518911_1302776644452267584_o.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-2EgikSmTd-U/VeP17LBMT-I/AAAAAAAAJjM/3qQc6UL5X3E/s640/11034371_1570978906518911_1302776644452267584_o.jpg" width="480" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ab6bukklssg/VeP18UfcRyI/AAAAAAAAJjU/fTKm5r3a6AE/s1600/10999948_1570978956518906_716962410722268298_o.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ab6bukklssg/VeP18UfcRyI/AAAAAAAAJjU/fTKm5r3a6AE/s640/10999948_1570978956518906_716962410722268298_o.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />

I bet you want to make one now and the good news is it's a free pattern which you can get hold of when you join <a href="https://www.facebook.com/groups/ChrsWDesignsPatternsGroup/" target="_blank">ChrisW Designs Patterns Group</a> on FB. There's always loads going on there and if you have her patterns and haven't made any of them yet then it's perfect for you becasue there are regular sew alongs being held. At the moment there is a Pick A Pocket sew along running up until September 8th and if I'm not mistaken I think next month there will be a sew along for the Penny Inn Wallet which I still haven't made. Also make sure to check out Christines website <a href="http://www.chriswdesigns.com/" target="_blank">HERE. </a><br />

When the original pattern came out a few years ago if I'm not mistaken, I was fortunate to have been on the testing team for it. Now Christine has made the pattern even better, if that's possible, her patterns are wonderful and again I was able to test it.<br />
<br />
The perfect size to just grab and go with loads of pockets to keep everything organized. <br />
Finished size = Approx. 36cm (14”) X 20cm (8”) X 7.5cm ( 3”)<br />
<br />
Here's mine made in upholstery fabrics. The plain fabric is also waterproof so if it should rain stuff won't get wet.<br />
<br />
It features an adjustable strap.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-5lPp5f5LYGs/Vbes3MkBo8I/AAAAAAAAJbM/7ocUV0LdSZQ/s1600/IMG_2729.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-5lPp5f5LYGs/Vbes3MkBo8I/AAAAAAAAJbM/7ocUV0LdSZQ/s640/IMG_2729.JPG" width="480" /></a></div>
<br />
Two large slip pockets on the front<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
and the back. These are great for keeping your cell phone and keys handy.<br />
<br />

I needed to make a bag that was quick and simple to make and would be fairly cheep. <br />
While in Spain to keep myself busy I made some crochet flowers, nothing fancy just some practice and wanted to add them to my bags so I decided on the Phoebe Bag which is a free tutorial that can be found <a href="http://www.craftsy.com/pattern/sewing/accessory/phoebe-bag/104430" target="_blank">HERE</a>.<br />
<br />
I had made the Phoebe years ago in it's original size but this time wanted it larger so I altered the pattern and this is what I came up with.<br />
<br />
I used pleather and embellished it with my little crochet flowers.<br />

<br />
I love this snail shell bead.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-oL-w6jB1FdM/VbPO8jwwAaI/AAAAAAAAJZA/cAyPCT3fn4A/s1600/IMG_2718.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-oL-w6jB1FdM/VbPO8jwwAaI/AAAAAAAAJZA/cAyPCT3fn4A/s640/IMG_2718.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I originally used green ribbon for the flower stalks that came down the bag so it looked like a bunch of flowers but didn't like it so took off the ribbon and did some hand stitching instead.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ZXLHXk6v4LI/VbPO_rVaNUI/AAAAAAAAJZI/cACenbXCmpw/s1600/IMG_2719.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ZXLHXk6v4LI/VbPO_rVaNUI/AAAAAAAAJZI/cACenbXCmpw/s640/IMG_2719.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I love the pink lining.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-p9Zm3k6aEzE/VbPPCM1KC7I/AAAAAAAAJZQ/ssbL4arEDlw/s1600/IMG_2722.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-p9Zm3k6aEzE/VbPPCM1KC7I/AAAAAAAAJZQ/ssbL4arEDlw/s640/IMG_2722.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-UmeXx8srH0Q/VbPPE37u36I/AAAAAAAAJZY/d8AYiwZR4eE/s1600/IMG_2724.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-UmeXx8srH0Q/VbPPE37u36I/AAAAAAAAJZY/d8AYiwZR4eE/s640/IMG_2724.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Looking to make things even more simple and quicker I decided that on the next two I would make the larger size but not add the darts at the bottom which left the bag flat but I think it worked well and I added some thin batting to give it a soft feel. I also added a pocket for a cell phone.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-vDOcFiAIIVY/VbPPH8bH6dI/AAAAAAAAJZg/_2C2mky4Wls/s1600/IMG_2734.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-vDOcFiAIIVY/VbPPH8bH6dI/AAAAAAAAJZg/_2C2mky4Wls/s640/IMG_2734.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Bright orange lining to tie in with the front pocket.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-yyh6rq-RlvA/VbPPLnuCfFI/AAAAAAAAJZo/KX7ge3Uo-as/s1600/IMG_2735.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-yyh6rq-RlvA/VbPPLnuCfFI/AAAAAAAAJZo/KX7ge3Uo-as/s640/IMG_2735.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
and lining.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Sow9JbcG9Xw/VbPPWs2s_-I/AAAAAAAAJZ4/V4Xy0BvjslE/s1600/IMG_2740.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Sow9JbcG9Xw/VbPPWs2s_-I/AAAAAAAAJZ4/V4Xy0BvjslE/s640/IMG_2740.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
These were so quick to make. I went and bought more denim fabric to make more but I want to embellish them differently although I suspect these will go well because of the cell phone pocket on the outside.<br />
<br />
This morning I also made six<a href="http://www.noodle-head.com/2012/06/open-wide-zippered-pouch-diy-tutorial.html" target="_blank"> open wide zippered pouches</a> designed by Anna at Noodlehead. Love this pattern, I made the medium size bag.<br />
<br />
The large floral ones are from upholstery fabric and didn't need any interfacing. The other three did as I used quilting cotton.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-998Iw7crWCQ/VbPPaasOveI/AAAAAAAAJaA/CeBPu_BVKJw/s1600/IMG_2743.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="408" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-998Iw7crWCQ/VbPPaasOveI/AAAAAAAAJaA/CeBPu_BVKJw/s640/IMG_2743.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-0AyzqULBVeY/VbPPdyrtYkI/AAAAAAAAJaI/oI5SvF9hXec/s1600/IMG_2747.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="580" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-0AyzqULBVeY/VbPPdyrtYkI/AAAAAAAAJaI/oI5SvF9hXec/s640/IMG_2747.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
These were made a few days ago.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-XaLKHBLbsxY/VbPOxdGVeJI/AAAAAAAAJYo/c7aWUnbbmPk/s1600/IMG_2714.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-XaLKHBLbsxY/VbPOxdGVeJI/AAAAAAAAJYo/c7aWUnbbmPk/s640/IMG_2714.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-QiwuZgMzYrQ/VbPO2xIRzPI/AAAAAAAAJYw/s3RjUvnuuBM/s1600/IMG_2715.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-QiwuZgMzYrQ/VbPO2xIRzPI/AAAAAAAAJYw/s3RjUvnuuBM/s640/IMG_2715.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
And last of all were four cell phone pouches I made for the shop. I love this floral fabric.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-sSnmNCnZQOc/VbPOsUfenDI/AAAAAAAAJYg/w0iNMKSaztQ/s1600/IMG_2712.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-sSnmNCnZQOc/VbPOsUfenDI/AAAAAAAAJYg/w0iNMKSaztQ/s640/IMG_2712.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
One other bag I made a couple of days ago was a test bag that I can't wait to show you. Designed by the amazing Christine Welsh, her patterns are amazing and this particular one has been revised as the original didn't have pattern pieces. Now it does which makes it quicker to make. I like quick and easy.<br />
<br />
Thanks for stopping by.<br />
<br />
Happy Sewing.<br />

<br />
I was delighted with this bag. I loved how big it was and also liked the fabrics I chose for it. I was worried the orange may be a bit bright but it worked fine.<br />
<br />
This bag would be great to use as an overnight bag but could also be used as a laptop bag with loads of room for extras, or as a diaper bag.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-b1KfopjRVt8/VZ7PKZRX6JI/AAAAAAAAJOI/Lmnr8SAGIhE/s1600/IMG_1821.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-b1KfopjRVt8/VZ7PKZRX6JI/AAAAAAAAJOI/Lmnr8SAGIhE/s640/IMG_1821.JPG" width="480" /></a></div>
<br />
The bag is plain on the back but if you are skilled at making bags and comfortable with zippers you could add another pocket here too.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-bXplMYGLR8g/VZ7PGVURzQI/AAAAAAAAJNw/qbrjHAbbSIc/s1600/IMG_1818.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-bXplMYGLR8g/VZ7PGVURzQI/AAAAAAAAJNw/qbrjHAbbSIc/s640/IMG_1818.JPG" width="480" /></a></div>
<br />
The Sloan Travel Bag features a 3-dimensinal front pocket.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgF9gzlw63cNAPNsHFNxotiKCaEryJ5RyRpUMBbcY3s7smb7ILpzxL6cBVTvd4aCWN-e5YZmoj6m-VnCvHh2UJHdy3GiLqLgd1najpxiQibqWXd-TJ8RDEJEW1wZn4-vKC9Z0m1ypQ7oN6_/s1600/IMG_1812.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgF9gzlw63cNAPNsHFNxotiKCaEryJ5RyRpUMBbcY3s7smb7ILpzxL6cBVTvd4aCWN-e5YZmoj6m-VnCvHh2UJHdy3GiLqLgd1najpxiQibqWXd-TJ8RDEJEW1wZn4-vKC9Z0m1ypQ7oN6_/s640/IMG_1812.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-RbTB6PVDvwQ/VZ7PBRTxDoI/AAAAAAAAJNQ/UnTcWtg5y_w/s1600/IMG_1814.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-RbTB6PVDvwQ/VZ7PBRTxDoI/AAAAAAAAJNQ/UnTcWtg5y_w/s640/IMG_1814.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Everything kept safe with a recessed main zipper.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-s6yT0gzRDJg/VZ7PDag9_eI/AAAAAAAAJNY/UG9nU6tQe8M/s1600/IMG_1815.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-s6yT0gzRDJg/VZ7PDag9_eI/AAAAAAAAJNY/UG9nU6tQe8M/s640/IMG_1815.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
And I love all the pockets on the inside. One zipper pocket and four slip pockets.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-FNlE9UVlQOI/VZ7PEOMPwDI/AAAAAAAAJNg/RNGxSmG4GHo/s1600/IMG_1816.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-FNlE9UVlQOI/VZ7PEOMPwDI/AAAAAAAAJNg/RNGxSmG4GHo/s640/IMG_1816.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
The pattern also includes an elastic key strap in the lining which you can't see on mine because I didn't make one. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjs5h7qC8ayS5Z3q4GYmdn2i3J1wOqFWsGL5cIUNc2g_3janZkDl_0JfvUgqoDCUr2zQaSxeBNveP4ey7HaqiYwM1Fx1dLhncDRHLkBxbSn07NcMa48U1-OKQF48HM0IpnVovcrVjvNXSvC/s1600/IMG_1817.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjs5h7qC8ayS5Z3q4GYmdn2i3J1wOqFWsGL5cIUNc2g_3janZkDl_0JfvUgqoDCUr2zQaSxeBNveP4ey7HaqiYwM1Fx1dLhncDRHLkBxbSn07NcMa48U1-OKQF48HM0IpnVovcrVjvNXSvC/s640/IMG_1817.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
The pattern called for padded handles but I just made mine as I would for all my bags without the padding but it would be a good idea to make them that way if you are going to stuff your bag as it can get heavy and the extra padding would be kind on the shoulders.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-fOvMGFIUCVA/VZ7PHyNPx8I/AAAAAAAAJN4/723hpTG4KyI/s1600/IMG_1819.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-fOvMGFIUCVA/VZ7PHyNPx8I/AAAAAAAAJN4/723hpTG4KyI/s640/IMG_1819.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Love the side pockets, very useful for keeping a cell phone handy or some tissues.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-WZ7ABL0pax0/VZ7O_qpgZAI/AAAAAAAAJNI/f4OOh0ubRbg/s1600/IMG_1813.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-WZ7ABL0pax0/VZ7O_qpgZAI/AAAAAAAAJNI/f4OOh0ubRbg/s640/IMG_1813.JPG" width="480" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<strong>Finished Size:</strong> 18” long x 14” tall x 6” deep.<br />
<br />

So much has been going on from sewing as a business which has been hard work but fun at the same time to having to leave it all behind to visit my dad in Spain who was ill, I was away for a month and a half and managed to spend the first two weeks of that time with my dad before he passed away. Now back home it's time to catch up again and start to pick up from where I left off but first of all I want to say a big thank you to all of you that wrote to me and gave your support while I was away. You are amazing people who have made this tough time so much easier to get through.<br />
<br />
So now what to show you. I really don't know where to start as I've made so many things and to be honest my photos are all jumbled up. I managed to put together a collage of all the Open wide Zippered Pouch's I've made since just before March and I was surprised at how many there were. These were made using a free tutorial by Noodlehead which you can find <a href="http://www.noodle-head.com/2012/06/open-wide-zippered-pouch-diy-tutorial.html" target="_blank">HERE</a>.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-RVL10UxO6SQ/VZyRRYMMLDI/AAAAAAAAJL4/ELCcvanwZRw/s1600/Openwide%2BMakeup%2BBags.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-RVL10UxO6SQ/VZyRRYMMLDI/AAAAAAAAJL4/ELCcvanwZRw/s640/Openwide%2BMakeup%2BBags.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I also made quite a few Fallon Bags designed by Karis at CloBird Designs. The pattern has a zipper closure but I simplified it and left it out. You can also make it with a zipper pocket but again for speed and simplicity I made a couple of slip pockets. <br />
This is a very easy bag to make and also very versatile which you can adapt to suit your needs, the pattern also has instructions for two sizes and two strap options and you can buy it from Craftsy <a href="http://www.craftsy.com/pattern/sewing/accessory/fallon-shoulder-bag--clobird-designs/126810" target="_blank">HERE.</a><br />

<br />
I also made some test bags before I went to Spain so will have to search for the photos and show you those. Hope you'll stick around now I'm back.<br />

The Happy Bag is designed by Rahimah at <a href="https://www.etsy.com/shop/Imazzpatterns?ref=l2-shopheader-name" target="_blank">Imazzpatterns</a> and she's another designer that makes bags for beginners. Her designs are simple and easy to make and the patterns are very well written with loads of photos.<br />

<br />
Here's Jane's Basic Clutch I tested to match the bag.<br />
I love this fabric.<br />

<br />
The pattern for the bag has a magnetic button closure but as my customers want zippers in their bags I added a recessed zipper which is very easy to do and can be added to practically any style bag.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-atb8sTeoEdA/VRuci2aIQdI/AAAAAAAAJGI/5renjTeCnnU/s1600/IMG_1886.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-atb8sTeoEdA/VRuci2aIQdI/AAAAAAAAJGI/5renjTeCnnU/s1600/IMG_1886.JPG" height="392" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Inside has a couple of slip pockets. If you're a confident sewer you could add a zipper pocket on the other side.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-80hbWrO0cZo/VRucnMCYkPI/AAAAAAAAJGQ/1LJZ_VdBA1o/s1600/IMG_1887.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-80hbWrO0cZo/VRucnMCYkPI/AAAAAAAAJGQ/1LJZ_VdBA1o/s1600/IMG_1887.JPG" height="480" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
As usual I quilt my bags as I don't have fusible fleece so this is a good way of keeping all the layers together.<br />
<br />

This one I made with upholstery fabrics. This colour is really in this year.<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
This is another one I made in the same fabrics just that I positioned the front pocket to show the flowers differently.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Actually it's been longer. It all started before the 21st Feb when I was sewing like mad for an upcoming craft fair, you can see that post <a href="http://miacreates.blogspot.com/2015/02/craft-fair-sewing.html" target="_blank">HERE</a>. Shortly before I was leaving disaster struck when my sewing room ceiling fell down which meant I couldn't make the craft fair, you can see that post <a href="http://miacreates.blogspot.com/2015/03/must-have-shopping-bags.html" target="_blank">HERE</a>. If that wasn't enough to deal with, me and my daughter decided to be the sole suppliers to a shop and if all that wasn't enough we were published in a magazine but more about that in another post.<br />
<br />
With all my time spent sewing for the shop and not knowing when workmen would turn up I had to put testing bags on hold, I just wouldn't be able to concentrate. Then Jane from <a href="http://projectsbyjane.blogspot.sg/2015/03/say-hello-to-my-new-pattern-janes-basic.html" target="_blank">Projects by Jane</a> asked if I wanted to test a clutch and I couldn't refuse becasue her patterns are perfect when they come for testing plus her creations are quick and easy to make. The day after she sent the pattern I had finished it and sent her photos. I told you it was quick.<br />
<br />
Here it is, Jane's Basic Clutch. I knew instantly which fabric I was going to use becasue I had just finished making a Happy Bag in the bird fabric which was sent to me by Samantha and thought this clutch would be a perfect addition. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-fIh4jBw_PTU/VRsB2AsrFpI/AAAAAAAAJFs/G4PNAjS0z2M/s1600/IMG_1878.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-fIh4jBw_PTU/VRsB2AsrFpI/AAAAAAAAJFs/G4PNAjS0z2M/s1600/IMG_1878.JPG" height="480" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
This is a basic clutch but can be made as a conventional clutch like I did with the body in one colour and the flap in another or you can make it like Jane's. She made hers with the back of the clutch and the flap in the same fabric and the front main bag plain.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Eb9F2m36cNg/VRsBajau4yI/AAAAAAAAJFE/Grehd0r1xoA/s1600/IMG_1883.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Eb9F2m36cNg/VRsBajau4yI/AAAAAAAAJFE/Grehd0r1xoA/s1600/IMG_1883.JPG" height="520" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Z80H0qJrfu8/VRsBd69OaEI/AAAAAAAAJFM/Yn4byE0Njkg/s1600/IMG_1882.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Z80H0qJrfu8/VRsBd69OaEI/AAAAAAAAJFM/Yn4byE0Njkg/s1600/IMG_1882.JPG" height="480" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Inside there is a single slip pocket. Although this may seem like any other clutch Jane has a very clever way of putting the whole thing together which was a new technique to me.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiy5bmuAvvH8_5q6DNMXmTqjwHQTdn_5z0X7_WIwWyc6pimBpVA3zxeO1bSuwDHvT5QvrhU142FKAbdu8OiiOygY2KHy-PbIEjP6mUSShlsXzM34ISX7kDUwqV81mRSexMrGe5rDxvZ39St/s1600/IMG_1881.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiy5bmuAvvH8_5q6DNMXmTqjwHQTdn_5z0X7_WIwWyc6pimBpVA3zxeO1bSuwDHvT5QvrhU142FKAbdu8OiiOygY2KHy-PbIEjP6mUSShlsXzM34ISX7kDUwqV81mRSexMrGe5rDxvZ39St/s1600/IMG_1881.JPG" height="492" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I used a light denim for the body of the bag and decided to quilt it<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-q6eIZrZTPxo/VRsBpsqy27I/AAAAAAAAJFc/V9tugZSA-Xg/s1600/IMG_1880.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-q6eIZrZTPxo/VRsBpsqy27I/AAAAAAAAJFc/V9tugZSA-Xg/s1600/IMG_1880.JPG" height="480" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I'm really happy with the way it turned out. Jane's patterns are perfect for beginners with loads of photos and detailed instructions, you just can't go wrong. The pattern is available <a href="https://www.etsy.com/shop/projectsbyjane" target="_blank">HERE</a> on Jane's Etsy and while you're there check out the rest of Jane's patterns, they're all fabulous.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-uj9KW6C3YWo/VRsBzDXKs6I/AAAAAAAAJFk/kEgF5jOtgw0/s1600/IMG_1879.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-uj9KW6C3YWo/VRsBzDXKs6I/AAAAAAAAJFk/kEgF5jOtgw0/s1600/IMG_1879.JPG" height="640" width="460" /></a></div>
<br />
I have loads more bags to show you that I've been sewing while you thought I'd disappeared. I've already fallen asleep several times while writing this post so I'll leave the Happy Bag till the next time to show you. For now it's goodnight from me.<br />
<br />
Thanks for stopping by.<br />

It's a long story so I'll try to make it quick so as not to bore you but I had intended on going to the craft fair with all my things but one night I had dozed on the sofa and was woken by a loud crashing sound. My son was in the kitchen cooking something for himself and the first thought that came to my mind was the cooker had exploded LOLL. After checking on him and seeing everything was fine I heard the loud noise again only this time I noticed it came from my sewing room. I then thought I had left the iron on and it had exploded, a bad habit I have. I went to check and was horrified to see that part of the ceiling in my sewing room had fallen down. The mess was everywhere, on my cutting table where I had been working in my thread draw, everything was a mess. The wet room is above the sewing room and a leak had caused it.<br />
<br />
Luckily I have a large sitting room upstairs that was empty and never got used except for a treadmill in it so I set upon the task of moving everything up there. It took a couple of days and left me exhausted. Thinking this was Gods way of telling me to have a rest from sewing I resigned myself to the fact that I should take a break. Well that lasted less than 24 hours and I was back at my sewing machine again. Since then I've been waiting on workmen to show up and my sewing room still needs to be repaired. When it is I don't think I'll be moving back down there again though as I have twice the space in my new room and can't be bothered to move everything again.<br />
<br />
Because of this I've had to put testing bags on hold for now as I can't concentrate with all that's going on. Having said that I did accept to test a clutch which is so cute and becasue I know that the designers pattern is so good that it would be easy and quick to test.<br />
<br />
Back in February before all this happened I was over the moon to be accepted as a tester by Geta Grama of <a href="http://cadouri-din-inima.blogspot.ro/2015/03/new-tote-bag-and-shopping-bag-patterns.html" target="_blank">Geta's Quilting Studio</a>. I've been a follower of her blog for ever and admire her beautiful quilting. She has loads of great tutorials and also makes wonderful bags which are very simple designs but so striking and beautiful. These that I tested are shopping bags, again very simple to make especially compared to what I'm used to making but I believe there is always something that can be learned no matter how simple a project and this was the case with these. Check out the above link where you can see Geta's shopping bags and also a tote bag which is gorgeous and you can buy that pattern too. I can't wait to be able to make one of those.<br />
<br />
These are supper quick to make and really easy. The one standing up is made from a waterproof fabric that is from Spain. I bought the fabric ages ago becasue it's in the colours I love and it's from my home country. This one has boxed corners where as the other one doesn't. I've been using them ever since and they are really strong and so handy. I never leave home without them. I just fold them up and put them in my bag. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-wnUuoUu-pxk/VM9tmDxjdGI/AAAAAAAAI3M/Q7Sk79XB8R8/s1600/IMG_1785.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-wnUuoUu-pxk/VM9tmDxjdGI/AAAAAAAAI3M/Q7Sk79XB8R8/s1600/IMG_1785.JPG" height="640" width="480" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-jaNsakLZ3xY/VM9tc6AO_XI/AAAAAAAAI2s/mevyMyXoyHc/s1600/IMG_1778.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-jaNsakLZ3xY/VM9tc6AO_XI/AAAAAAAAI2s/mevyMyXoyHc/s1600/IMG_1778.JPG" height="640" width="480" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-T6EN0ffKka4/VM9tfJbh8XI/AAAAAAAAI20/oSQwJNF6LjA/s1600/IMG_1779.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-T6EN0ffKka4/VM9tfJbh8XI/AAAAAAAAI20/oSQwJNF6LjA/s1600/IMG_1779.JPG" height="466" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
These bags have no interfacing or lining just an outer fabric but what makes them really nice is all the seams are neatly finished off so there are no raw edges. This is the part that was new to me. I had seen these seams before but had never made them.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-GtdlAHBSi68/VM9thdzkxfI/AAAAAAAAI28/-bYZLSJUtVY/s1600/IMG_1782.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-GtdlAHBSi68/VM9thdzkxfI/AAAAAAAAI28/-bYZLSJUtVY/s1600/IMG_1782.JPG" height="640" width="480" /></a></div>
<br />
This is the inside of the bag. Even the boxed corners have no raw edges. I love how tidy the inside of the bag is. The pattern was really easy to follow with good instructions and clear photos of the steps. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiU-_jjCsSvKbuxg5U1fNFChesXop4M6zToiBfewl8k5lrd11RW4Smy2tCtUwFSc32q8RbAK6XG41GElrJN2KbqUX_GBZY3Q2hxixK-X93cbdAZvJXwD5LNIQQxzhyphenhyphenAqQ-tPnc9JlBrNIwO/s1600/IMG_1783.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiU-_jjCsSvKbuxg5U1fNFChesXop4M6zToiBfewl8k5lrd11RW4Smy2tCtUwFSc32q8RbAK6XG41GElrJN2KbqUX_GBZY3Q2hxixK-X93cbdAZvJXwD5LNIQQxzhyphenhyphenAqQ-tPnc9JlBrNIwO/s1600/IMG_1783.JPG" height="480" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
These are great to keep in the car when you go shopping. You could make a whole bunch of them so you don't have to put things into plastic carrier bags. Good for the environment. You can find the pattern <a href="http://www.romanianquiltstudio.com/english/shopping-bags-pattern.html" target="_blank">HERE</a>. Geta has also made these in faux leather in various colours which you can also see in the link for the pattern and the colours she's used are gorgeous. Also check out all the <a href="http://cadouri-din-inima.blogspot.ro/2010/09/tutorials.html" target="_blank">TUTORIALS.</a> I'm really looking forward to be able to test more bags for Geta in the future. She was looking for testers for her quilt pattern but that was a bit out of my league but who knows maybe one day I'll be good enough to test one of those too.<br />
<br />
Thanks for sticking with me to the end of this post. What started out as a disaster has all been for the best. I have a new bigger sewing room and a shop is now selling mine and my daughters work and nobody else's. I'll post about that another time with some photos for you to see. More good news is my daughter has been published in a magazine and her work is on the cover of the first issue. She's been doing tutorials for the magazine and I also did a tutorial for my fabric hearts which has also been published in the same magazine. For those of you who've sent me emails I'm sorry if I haven't managed to get back to you. I'm not on my laptop much these days with all the sewing I have to do but I think in about three weeks to a months time things will slow down a bit.<br />
<br />
I've really missed visiting all the blogs I follow and hope to find the time soon to visit those and see what I've been missing out on.<br />
<br />
Again thanks to all of you for stopping by.<br />

This is a photo heavy post so if you plan on sticking around you might want to grab a cuppa before you start.<br />
<br />
Here is my latest collection for the craft fair. It took just under a couple of weeks to put together. It wore me out but it's so nice to see them all together now. I want to keep the lot.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-J5FM3KGEJog/VOgoMeic-YI/AAAAAAAAJAM/ynGD4lKRVv4/s1600/IMG_1846.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-J5FM3KGEJog/VOgoMeic-YI/AAAAAAAAJAM/ynGD4lKRVv4/s1600/IMG_1846.JPG" height="480" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Dq7Tx09dB8w/VOgoOvgM16I/AAAAAAAAJAU/GZQR8D3pkfI/s1600/IMG_1847.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Dq7Tx09dB8w/VOgoOvgM16I/AAAAAAAAJAU/GZQR8D3pkfI/s1600/IMG_1847.JPG" height="480" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I made these using the Open Wide Zippered Pouch tutorial by Noodlehead which you can find <a href="http://www.noodle-head.com/2012/06/open-wide-zippered-pouch-diy-tutorial.html" target="_blank">HERE</a>. The tutorial gives three different sizes. I used the medium size and it's pretty big. I sure don't have enough makeup to use this size, the smaller one would suit my needs and the large one must be huge, I guess you could use it to hold brushes and hair products when going away. It would be great to have all three sizes for different needs.<br />

These are designed by Yasemin who blogs over at <a href="http://nachnuch.blogspot.com.tr/2014/03/sanitary-napkins-bags_9.html" target="_blank">Nachnuch</a>. Yasemin very kindly gave me the measurements for these and sewing them up was easy. Her bags are easy but stylish and her patterns are well written with clear photos of the steps to making the bag. You can also check out the other testers bags <a href="https://www.facebook.com/groups/841542862537317/" target="_blank">HERE</a> on the Facebook Group. <br />
<br />
The pattern includes two versions. A bag or a clutch bag. I chose the clutch becasue I wasn't sure this would be large enough for me to use as a bag but after making it saw it would be perfect for taking the essentials with me, money, a cell phone, keys, ID card, medical insurance booklet, even some makeup.<br />
<br />
I love the curved edge along the top of the closed flap and don't know if you can make them out becasue of my very floral fabric but there are pleats on the flap. I used quilting cotton thickness fabric for the lining and flap and for the body of the bag I used upholstery fabric. <br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-vom06URAo9s/VOefGs4ywMI/AAAAAAAAI9o/6Jn9zAUHRaw/s1600/IMG_1807.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-vom06URAo9s/VOefGs4ywMI/AAAAAAAAI9o/6Jn9zAUHRaw/s1600/IMG_1807.JPG" height="480" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
The clutch has a removable wristlet strap. Although you can't see it on my bag the other version is for a shoulder strap or across the body strap which clips onto the sides and is also removable.<br />
Inside has a slip pocket on one side of the bag which is perfect for holding a cell phone.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

The thing I love about this pattern is it's so versatile. You can get a completely different look just by choosing different fabrics, it would look great as an evening bag.<br />
