Floral Makeup Bag & Wallet Set

I just finished making this wallet and makeup bag this morning and am thrilled to bits with them. I've made them for someone who saw the fabric in my stash and liked it. I wish I'd thought of making them in this fabric sooner because of all the wallets and makeup bags I've made these are definitely my favourite ones.

I had a job trying to find a zip that matched the lining fabric but finally managed to find one.

I used a tutorial from Nicolaforemanquilts.com to make the makeup bag. I tried to give the direct link but for some strange reason her page won't open up for me.  I got it to work click HERE for the tutorial. The tutorial is for a pencil case that measures 9" x 11" but I cut mine out at 12" x 12" to give a good size for a makeup bag.

I think I may just have enough of the floral fabric to make a pocket tissue holder.

  2. I think the link is http://www.nicolaforemanquilts.com/1/post/2012/03/how-to-make-a-pencil-case-a-tutorial.html - the bag and wallet are gorgeous - very pretty and feminine :) You managed (as usual!) to pick the perfect lining fabric and zipper - you have such an eye for that!

  6. I love them! They make me think of the good old Laura Ashley days.

FANTASTIC job matching the zipper--wow! I know how difficult that can be. Yours turned out very well.

    Beautiful and inspiring projects!

    1. Thanks for stopping by Krista and thanks also for letting me know you're a no reply blogger at least I know I'm not talking to myself when I reply here to comments LOLLLL I remember Laura Ashley from when I was a teenage. Now that's going back a while but I loved her stuff then and still love the fabrics she used. Don't know if Laura Ashley still has shops in the UK or anywhere else for that matter.

    2. I know there are no Laura Ashley shops in the U.S. anymore--:(--there are a few items with that brand name at one of our department stores in town, but the style is more modern and updated and not what I remember it to be.

      I really miss the perfume!
