I'm Back

I just got back yesterday after visiting my daughter for a week. Had a wonderful time. We went out and bought her her first sewing machine. We decided on this one, the Janome LR1122. I think it will do her fine to start off with. We reorganized her room and she's already thinking of doing some patchwork. Next shopping trip will be for a cutting mat and quilting rulers. Poor hubby has two fabric addicts in the family now. LOL

She's taking sewing classes and has nearly completed her first project which was a skirt. Her next one will be a pair of trousers. She is the fourth generation on my side of the family to keep up the sewing tradition and she seems to have taken to it really well.
Of course now she has a sewing machine we had a good excuse for fabric shopping. Or rather I did. She only bought two pieces of fabric, me on the other hand, lost control and ended up with eleven. LOLLLL They have a better choice of colours where she lives.
These are my fabrics.

I bought these to do some kind of patchwork but still not sure which patterns to choose.
On the down side when I returned home the grass and weeds were knee high so that will take up a couple of days to put back into order but first I need to take a look at patterns to see what I can find for my fabrics.

  1. Glad you had a good time and your daughter has a sewing machine now too. My daughter isn't as excited about sewing too much. I wish she were. My grandson seems to be more excited and I may teach him in maybe a year if he seems able to handle it then.

Looking forward to seeing your new creations with your fabric purchase.

  4. Whoa! I love the machine! What a lucky girl! I also love the table because I think that adds to the smoothness of pushing the fabric through when it is flat. I do not have one. Your poor husband...he will jsut have to join the fun with fabrics! ♥♥♥
