The time has come to make some changes to my lifestyle.
Giving up smoking and being more active.
I've already started cutting back on the cigarettes but now it's time to do something about the active part.
Since I was a teenager I have always been involved in sports from gymnastics, trampolining, running, swimming, a bit of ice skating and aerobics and walking for the past 12 years which I did faithfully but for the last 5 years I've given it all up and mainly sit and sew, blog or search the internet. It's starting to take it's toll.
Not only am I putting on the pounds it's not doing my health any good. While checking through the blogs I follow I came across a post over at Geta's blog. Geta is planning on doing a 30 minute walk and a 30 minute work out everyday for the next 21 days starting from Monday.
I've decided to join her, at least the walking LOLLL. Start off slowly and all that. Having someone to join in with you is a great intensive to keep going. I'll post about my progress as I go along. My main reason for doing this is my health and if I manage to loose some pounds along the way that will be a bonus.
If you'd like to join us just print out this free printable over at Mama Jenn
The more of us taking part together the more fun it will be and we can support each other too. Geta is start on Monday so I will too.
Here's to a healthier lifestyle.

that's a great idea! Go you!
ReplyDeleteI've followed this once before, it's hard work but begins in just 5 minutes a day. You could benefit from combining it with the walking probably.

Keep us updated! xx
I smoked for 29 years. I was never able to cut down - I was one of those smokers that's so addicted I couldn't even sit through a movie in the theatre without going outside for a smoke break. Oh my it was bad! I quit cold turkey almost 10 years ago, and hubby quit 8 years ago - I'm so glad our kids never took it up!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your exercise goal - as far as I'm concerned walking is the best exercise around. It's easy, you don't need special equipment, you can do it pretty much any time and anywhere, and it'll help trim down the pounds AND the inches - GO FOR IT!
Maria, that's a great goal for the new year. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteGo Maria! don't give up!
ReplyDeleteYou should!and good luck!

Maria.....YOU CAN DO IT!!!! I started eating healthy and walk for 1 hour every morning (I roll out of bed and do it FIRST THING EVERY DAY)!!!! I've lost 95 pounds in the past 14 months. I went from 205 to 110. I'm only 5' tall, so I was quite round. I wish I had done this years ago!!!!
ReplyDeleteJUST STICK WITH IT!!!!...
You go girl! I just printed out the 21 days too as I have gained 8 pounds last year and about 5 pounds the year before! So I need to get back to my "normal" weight so I can wear my blue jeans again waaaahhhh!!!! Lol!!! I'm going to really try to stick with the 21 day goal. I recently started the yoga, but cannot go there everyday. So I need to walk again (bundle in the cold). So let's stick with this Maria and accomplish our healthy goals for 2013. We can still help each other even though we live miles and miles away, right?
ReplyDeleteI am starting today, Maria!
ReplyDeleteHi Maria, how nice to know I'm not alone in this adventure. I visited Geta's blog and I also will participate, I'll start to walk with you tomorrow. Recently I just printed the sheet, so... I'll start tomorrow, which I did to not forget, is to put the sheet in front of the computer. Hopefully it motivates me!!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the info!
